A year later.....Hoping to keep you updated!

So many things have happened in a year I'm not sure where to begin. Changing my blog name first of all to include the SEVEN of us!!

I'll start with Ryan. His life has seemed to be a complete transformation. He enlisted in the Navy...something I never thought he'd do....applied for the special forces, got accepted and in December will leave to become a Navy Diver. He has made many healthy lifestyle changes, has met a girl (she's a special one), and has grown in ways that Tim and I are SO proud of.

Alyssa graduated this year and gave us our first grandchild. Ellison Grace joined our family on May 14th. What an amazing blessing she is to our family. Alyssa is a wonderful mommy and loves every task that goes along with it. She will be starting classes in the fall to pursue her life long dream of becoming a teacher.

Emily will be a sophomore this year and will be cheering, running cross country and track, and turning 16!! Should be a busy, fun year for her. She has a real heart for Christ and has committed to not date this year but to use that time and energy in deepening her relationship with Him.

Travin will be in 8th grade. He'll be playing all the sports, but his biggest passion is drumming. He plays with the high school band in the Pit crew as well as in the middle school band. He went to several camps this summer and dreams of ending up in a drumline somewhere!!!

I would love to think that I can update this every few days so that you, my sweet family and friends, can be involved in our day to day happenings. I love reading your blogs...Steph, Laura, Trish, Kim...I read them daily, so I am hoping I can be as diligant as y'all.

A very NIECE weekend

We had a weekend full of nieces.

We drove to McPherson, Kansas to go to Danielle's wedding reception and had the pleasure of meeting Erik's parents and family. I'm so proud of the young woman she has become and so thankful that she has such a wonderful man to share her life with.

Then we came home and got to spend some time with Laura and her new husband John. What a sweet couple...thanks for taking the time to come share your lives with us. Also, Laura thanks for gettin me started on this blog...we'll use it now to be involved in each others lives on a day to day basis.

To Get Things Started

To start off, I thought it would be a good idea to get everyone caught up on the Jowers family affairs.

Tim and I moved to a small little community just north of Dallas to a town called Celina. It has proven to be one of the best decisions we have made for our family.

Ryan just turned 23 and is living in an apartment near Dallas. He is working for a company installing commercial security systems and seems to enjoy it. He and Tim are playing on a softball team together and he comes out for the occasional dinner or lunch. He has grown into such a sweet young man.

Alyssa is almost 17 and will be a senior this year. She has a great sense of humor and keeps us laughing most of the time. I absolutely treasure the time I have with her as I know all too soon she'll be heading off to college and on her own....heavy sigh.

Emily is 14 and will be a freshman this year. She is a cheerleader again this year so we will be enjoying watching her "fly" at the football games. She is our little social butterfly...loves to be on the go. She is a precious part of our family and always has a smile on her face and an encouraging word on her lips.

Travin is 13 and will be in 7th grade this year. He still does all the sports but his latest passion is band. He is a percussionist and can't wait to join the marching band playing the snare drum. He also has discovered that he loves fishing. We have a catch and release lake in our neighborhood and he spends many hours seeing what he can catch using hot dogs as bait.
